We Own The Night London 2014 - Launch Event
We are all about grabbing a group of our mates together, getting our sweat on with a run or a workout and then going out to eat delicious food. Our Instagram accounts are filled with #WeRunToEat hash tags, which is literally what we live by. The best #WeRunToEat days are after a race where we get to celebrate all our training days with a super big dericious feast! What better way to get more of our friends, who don't normally run, into running than the We Own The Night 10km race on the 10th May 2014.
We were luckily invited down to the We Own The Night Nike 10km launch event last week at Snap Studios. We got there and were welcomed with our very own mini Moleskine note pad and Muji pen. Each note pad had a beautifully hand written message inside - written in gold! Black and gold seems to be a theme here *heart eyes*. I swooned while I munched on some Meringue Girls yummy treats.
We were then shown to our lockers. Every girl got a locker with their name tag on it. Inside were Kneipp bath goodies to sooth muscle and joint pain (just what we'll be needing with all the London Marathon Training) and Nike kit to get our We Own The Night journey into motion. All kit was personalised to each person's style. I got buff Luxe leggings and a Luxe top, a volt Nike Pro long sleeve training top and a volt sports bra.
Now if that wasn't 'swoon' enough we then got shown around to the displays of all the latest Nike gear. Dammit, Nike you really know how to get to a girl's hear t- just look at these tights of the moment with matching sports bra and amazing running jacket!
We then got our gait analysis done by the Nike team. I have a slight over pronation, but when I run I don't actually over pronate too badly which makes me look like I have a more neutral run. I can do a max of 10km in a neutral running shoe, therefore the Flyknit Lunar 2 are perfect for this. Girls who needed more support went for the Nike LunarEclipse which were also available.
Totes in full running technique and over pronation conversation with the technical man Sam. (Hold tight my twin in the back)!
Kiehl's had a pop up stand set up too, they were there giving advice on the types of products we should use for our individual skin types. No doubt they were constantly busy but everyone walked away with a Kiel's goody pack filled with face cream, body moisturiser, hand cream and lip balm. Beauty products are so important, if you could see the state of my hands, face and lips from cycling and running in the winter you would understand why!
We can't wait to see what the We Own The Night journey has in store, next up a secret concert by Jessie J - eek!
